June 2022

  • Google Summer Insights virtual series will take place between Tuesday 26th - Thursday 28th July 2022. Registrations are now live for the series, for both technical and non-technical students! This program is committed to showcasing representation in the tech industry, and helping you to prepare for your future career. Learn more here.

May 2022

  • New mentoring scheme. Stemettes is a UK organisation that engages, inspires, and educates young women into STEM/STEAM careers. They have collaborated with the Avantor Foundation to deliver a new mentoring programme with a view to encouraging with young women and non-binary people in Ireland to consider STEM careers. More here. Applicants who are eligible (ages 15 - 21 living in Ireland) will be matched with highly qualified mentors working in the STEAM sector who will provide valuable advice and support along their career paths. The programme runs from May - August 2022 and applications are open now.

  • Google is hosting a virtual International Women’s Day event for tech students from the EMEA region on March 31, Registrations for event for students are now open. Learn more and register on the website.
  • Aer Lingus are currently recruiting for an Entry Level Software engineer. Applications are now open here!
  • Future Human 2022 on 12, 13 May 2022 in Dublin is seeking volunteers for the event. Apply here. You must be over 18 on 7 May 2022 to apply.
  • ESB 2022 Apprenticeship programme now open. Apply to become an ESB Networks Electrical Apprentice before 12pm, March 28th 2022.

February 2022

  • Patch 2022 now open for applications. Patch is a 6-week long summer accelerator for 16 - 21 year old aspiring entrepreneurs, technologists, scientists, and engineers. You’ll spend your time at Patch: Working on an ambitious project (2020 projects here), Forming life-long connections with an energetic group of peers, Receiving 1:1 mentorship from experts in Stripe, Intercom, and Dogpatch Labs, and Learning from founders such as Des Traynor (Intercom), and Iseult Ward (FoodCloud). Past projects built at Patch include: MIRR - Touchscreen smart mirror, Cropsafe - Farm management software using satellite imagery and AMSIMP - Open source atmospheric modelling using AI. Applications are now open for the 2022 programme and we strongly encourage you to apply! All expenses are covered and there’s a weekly bursary available to all participants. The deadline is February 20th, 2022 at midnight. You can apply through this form, and more info can be found atjoinpatch.org.

December 2021

  • Tyndall National Institute 2022 Internship Programme now open for applications. Tyndall, IPIC, MCCI & IERC are offering a generous, competitive internship programme for all undergraduate students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics hoping to gain insight into a research environment. This internship provides the opportunity to work with world-class research teams in an immersive research experience. Interns will undertake a 12-week research project between June and August 2022 complemented by a development programme in which students will learn about communication skills and research commercialisation among much more. This programme is open to undergraduate students from Irish-based universities and institutes of technology and will provide 25 internship places for the 2022 programme. Applications close 31st January 2022. To apply for this programme applicants can fill out the expression of interest form here. Students are invited to an Information Open Evening on Thursday 16th December at 5pm to learn more about the programme and research at Tyndall National Institute, including IPIC, IERC and MCCI. Students can register here. The event will be recorded and distributed if students are unable to make it.

  • Google Cloud Technical Residency Program. This 1 yr rotation program is now open for applications.
  • AIB Technology Graduate programme now open for applications. AIB accepts all disciplines for their Graduate Programme. So whether you have a Bachelor’s degree (2.1 or higher) in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering, or indeed any STEM related academic background think about applying here.   • Are you looking to kick start a career in science and get an education while getting paid?! Pfizer are recruiting laboratory apprentices in Dublin. Have you an Ordinary Bachelor of Science Degree - Laboratory Analyst (3-year Level 7)? The programme starts in September 2021. Closing Date for applications is 28 May 2021.
  • II-LOFAR AstroLands Summer Internships are paid and applications are open until 30 May 2021. All the information and how to apply here.
  • Google Inside Look Program 2021 now open for applications. It runs virtually on 28, 29 July 2021 and applcants must be studying computer science or a related technical subject. Applications close on 1 June 2021.
  • Google Developer Student Club lead. Applications now open! Closing date is 30 May 2021.

  • 29 March 2021 Applications close for Patch, a 6 week long summer accelerator for 16 – 21 year olds. It runs from July 7th - August 18th 2021. Participating teams spend the summer working on a chosen project, getting to know a group of peers and learning from mentors and speakers. Patch is open to future entrepreneurs, scientists, engineers, designers and technologists of all stripes. Apply now.
  • 12 March 2021 @ 1 pm Jane Street Virtual Employee Panel. Interested in learning more about Jane Street. Join this 60-minute virtual event! This event is for students at any point in their academic career from any degree background. Sign up by 10 March 2021.
  • 10 March 2021 @ 4 pm Google Summer of Code Workshop 2021. Register now for the 1 hour webinar. Applications open on March 29, 2021 and closeon April 13, 2021. Google Summer of Code is an opportunity to woork on Open Source projects that matter while getting paid this summer.
  • 10 March 2021, Jane Street Discover programme for students. More here and link to apply. Closing date for applications is 4 March 2021.
  • 8 March 2021 International Women's Day
    • Celebrate International Women’s Day with Google! This two day virtual event series is open to all higher education students in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa and is committed to creating spaces where women who are at the start of their careers can find community, inspiration, and empowerment.   • Vodaphone Summer Internships for third level students: applications open until 28 February 2021. Interships start on 31 May 2021.
  • 5 PhD positions available starting September 2021. WITS member Melissa Walsh writes: We have 5 PhD positions available for the prestigious PIADS programme that will commence in September 2021, covering a range of Photonics Themes: Biomedical, Optical Communications, Packaging & Hybrid Integration, and Monolithic & Heterogeneous Integration. The successful candidates will join a vibrant student cohort and well-established Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) at the Irish Photonics Integration Centre (IPIC) in the Republic of Ireland (ROI) in partnership with Queens University Belfast and the University of Glasgow. Students will benefit from the close working research collaborations, industry interactions, courses available and social activities for the programme provided by all partners. This unique exhibition will feature demonstrations in virtual reality, robotics and astronomy, as well as insightful talks from experts in the areas of construction, information technology, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, electronics, weather-forecasting, agri-technology, environmental engineering, and cybersecurity.
